The Last Good Album I Heard: The Blueprint 3

March 12, 2010
By Jordan Tranberg
The last good album that I heard was The Blueprint 3 by Jay-Z. This album is Jay-Z’s 11th studio album of his historic rap career. It was released on September 11, 2009 and is the third installment of the Blueprint trilogy.

The Blueprint 3 has Jay-Z collaborating with artists such as Drake, Young Jeezy, Alisha Keys, Kid Cudi, Mr. Hudson, Kanye West, Swizz Beats and Rihanna. It is safe to say this album is not without the major heavy hitters of the hip/hop community.  It would have been a complete album if they would have had Lil’ Wayne and T.I. on this album,  but not everything is always perfect.

“The Blueprint 3 is just a solid album,” said senior Alec Erlandson.

The Blueprint 3 is currently #37 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. It topped out at #1  on the Billboard Top 200 chart.  Several of the songs on the album are on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Currently the songs are Empire State of Mind ft. Alisha Keys at #28, On to the Next One ft. Swizz Beats at #37, and Young Forever ft. Mr. Hudson at #78.

This album, in comparison to Fearless by Taylor Swift, is just downright horrible. When it comes to music there is only one leader of the pack… that would be Taylor Swift

  2. Alec Erlandson on March 17, 2010 at 9:53 am

Carrie Underwood is the leader joel, don’t kid yourself.

  3. Joel Millis on March 18, 2010 at 11:44 am

Alec… if we were to hold a poll concerning the amount of people who like Taylor Swift more than Carrie Underwood there would be only 1-2% of the population that thinks Carrie is the leader of the pack

  4. Eric Millis on March 18, 2010 at 11:55 am

Kellie Pickler is much better than both.. They do not even come close.

  5. Alec Erlandson on March 22, 2010 at 10:13 pm

Both of you stop kidding yourselves… if we have to turn this article commenting area into a hotness voting area i’ll do it.

I respect Alec and Eric’s opinions on Carrie and Kellie, but…..Taylor is by far the best looking of the pack. 1st Taylor, 2nd Carrie, and last Kellie

When I think of Taylor Swift… these are the words that come to mind… Rely on your own strength of body and soul. Take for your star self-reliance, faith, honesty and industry. Don’t take too much advice — keep at the helm and steer your own ship, and remember that the great art of commanding is to take a fair share of the work. Fire above the mark you intend to hit. Energy, invincible determination with the right motive, are the levers that move the world. She is a young leader. You all will bow down to her one day.

Nice use of copy and paste Joel. Who taught you how to do that?

  9. Alec Erlandson on March 26, 2010 at 9:49 am

I’m not sure what that had to do with anything joel.

  10. Joel Millis on March 29, 2010 at 12:50 pm

well when you look at the pancakes of time… its clear that fred flinstone is far superior than a young coco pebble

  11. Moriah Deno on March 29, 2010 at 2:19 pm

If you put it that way Joel, Carrie Underwood would be far more superior because she is older.

  12. Alec Erlandson on March 31, 2010 at 9:58 pm

If we’re using cereal comparisons to get our point accross… Carrie Underwood is the breakfast of champions!

  13. Joel Millis on April 16, 2010 at 12:49 pm

Well Mrs. Erlandson… What if We Were using types of bread to describe these tWo fine leaders? Taylor Would be Italian due to the fact thats its delicious yet subtle.

  14. Alec Erlandson on April 20, 2010 at 1:49 pm

I’m a man! And i wouldn’t use bread to describe either of them, that was a terrible response to a fine argument i just made. She is the breakfast of champions… i’ll leave the Italian to Taylor. Ease your storm Joelle.
