Confidence Is Key!

Confidence+Is+Key%21

Believe. Sure. To have faith in. All of these words mean the same thing as confidence, which is something that one should have in order to succeed properly.

Whether it’s homework, sports, or almost anything else, confidence is something that should be present. When you believe in yourself, it tends to boost your actual capabilities, which is important because there is always room for improvement, no matter who it applies to.

“Confidence is built from the relentless effort of learning from failure,” said Psychology professor Panteli Tritchew.

If you don’t have very much self-confidence, you are very much likely to have more fear of failer and anxiety about everything for the rest of your life. However, if you have confidence while you are doing something then you will are less likely to show your fear of failure, and you would be less anxious about life situations.

“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy,” said inspirational writer and lecturer Dale Carnegie.

If you truly believe that you can’t do something, then you are only creating a mental block for your brain. When you have no confidence in yourself or in your abilities, it doesn’t allow you to reach your full capabilities. So your thoughts are the only reason why you might not be able to do something. Being confident doesn’t mean that you can do everything and anything, but it allows you to be the best version of yourself.

“ You understand that you are not Superman, but being confident means still moving forward toward your goal achievement and desires even when things don’t seem to be going your way, ” said life coach Karl Gruber.

As high school students and staff members, there are often many times where you feel stressed out and doubt your decisions. There are many people who often doubt or second-guess themselves, not knowing if they are doing something correctly or if it’s really the right decision. So while second-guessing yourself may be good in some cases, but because it implies that you have little confidence in the decisions that you are making, it tends to stay with you for any other time you need to make a decision. It as if you need your own approval to be confident.

“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles, and less-than-perfect conditions. So what? Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident, and more and more successful,” said motivational speaker and co-creator of Chicken Soup for the Soul book series Mark Victor Hansen.

Is someone’s confidence is low, here are some simple tips from Founder and CEO of Skill Incubator, Cris Dunn, to help them get to where they deserve to be:

One: Visualize where you want to be. If you picture where you want to be it allows you to accept yourself being confident.

Two: Do at least one thing that scares you every day. If you start to face some of your fears, it allows you to gain some confidence from doing something that you typically would never do. Three: Question your inner critic. The harshest person in the world is yourself. If you listen to your own personal critics, you tend to find too many flaws about yourself. But if you challenge your own thoughts, you can show yourself that you are capable of whatever you put your mind to.

Four: Help others. Some might be questioning what this has to do with anything, but there is very logical reasoning behind it. When you help someone, it makes you feel good about what you did. This tends to lead to you being happier and confident with yourself.

“To establish true self- confidence, we must concentrate on our success in life and forget about our failures and the negative things in our lives,” said motivational speaker Denis Waitley.

We should try to motivate everyone around us, allowing everyone to be the best version of themselves. It may cause some people to believe that there are on too many, but is that such a bad thing? Would it really be so bad to have more confident and positive people than people who have no confidence in themselves and who are negative?

“Inhale confidence, exhale your doubt,” said Gruber.
