NHS To Clean Up Highway

NHS+To+Clean+Up+Highway

NHS Clean Up PictureOn May 4 National Honor Society will be cleaning their section of highway as their end of the year project.

“NHS used to do it in the past, and I decided it would be a nice end of the year project,” said NHS adviser Justice Broker. Broker says it’s been about five years since the club combed through their section of State Highway 54.

“They stopped doing it because of poor student behavior as well as finding dangerous items–needles, half dead animals, etc.–on the side of the road,” said Broker. Broker and club members spent some time at the last NHS meeting to come up with a plan for the afternoon of cleaning.

“The plan is to meet at The Little Norway Church. From there, we will split into five groups and start on opposite ends of the highway stretch. We are cleaning and work our way toward each other until we meet in the middle,” said NHS treasurer Taylar Dalbec. The plan for the day does not end there.
