The BRFHS Tigers Sports Teams Dominated the Sports Action

If you missed it, here’s what happened Monday and last Friday in the BRFHS sports world

There were no games on Monday night, but if we look back, Friday the 3 was a jam-packed end to the week. The girls’ hockey team traveled to Baraboo and won 6 to 0. The girls’ wrestling team also traveled to Mauston for an afternoon tournament. Riley Hanrahan secured 1st in the 138 weight bracket with a record of 4-0, Charlie Heath placed 2nd in the 152 weight bracket with a record of 3-1, and Katelyn Nosbisch placed 5th in the 145 weight bracket with a record of 4-1.

On the flip side, at home, both the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams had games. The boys fought hard against Tomah but unfortunately came away with a loss, 77 to 88. Then, after them, the girls took the court and faced the lady Timberwolves. It was a close game, with Hannah Falcon coming in right at the end to score the game-winning point, helping the girls win 47 to 46. Boys’ hockey was also at home at the Milt, where they took on Hayward. They battled it out on the ice, but unfortunately, it was not enough for the win, resulting in a 6 to 2 loss

Tigers Sports Continues Even Through the Struggles

Even though the tigers might not have had many wins last night they still have parts of their performances to be proud of.

Tuesday night was another full night of sports action. First, both the boys’ and girls’ wrestling teams traveled to Arcadia for a triangular meet against both Arcadia and Stanley Boyd. The girls wrestled matches against the Arcadia girls’ team and came away undefeated. Then the boys faced Stanley Boyd for their first duel of the night. It was a tough and close fight, but unfortunately, they came away with a loss, 30 to 34. After that, they took on Arcadia for the last duel of the night. The boys fought hard but fell short, losing 21 to 48.

In girls’ basketball, the team took on Westby in Westby. They played very well, with standout performances from players like Bella Falcon, who led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points, but it was not enough for the win, with the final score being 62 to 40.

Also, the boys’ hockey team faced Somerset in Somerset. They battled on the ice, but it was not enough to secure the win, ending with a 2 to 7 loss.

Turning back to our home courts, the boys’ basketball team took on Elk Mound at home in the field house. They fought through a tough first half, being down by 4 points going into halftime. Braylan Backaus led the team in scoring with 17 points, followed by Nolan Boehm with 13. They fought back in the second half but couldn’t pull through for the win, ending with a losing score of 74 to 53.
