BRFHS Paw Print: How long have you been in golf?

Kara Zeps: I have played two seasons of golf. I played my sophomore year and my senior year.

PP: Why did you decide to join the golf team?

KZ: When I was in Tomah my best friend at the time played golf, and it was something I had never tried before, but she kinda was like, “Ya know what you might like it,” so I was, like, “Okay, cool. I’ll try it,” and now it is one of my favorite things.

PP: How has golf impacted you then?

KZ: It has taught me a lot about stress management and being able to calm myself down because it gets really stressful sometimes for me. I have learned a lot of teamwork from it, too, and I have a lot of fun memories.

PP: Have you been able to use those skills in any other extracurricular activities in school or in life?

KZ: It has helped me a lot out in life in general, I think. I have been able to learn to just take deep breaths and take everything in and just let it go. It has helped me realize I am doing it for fun. You know it’s never really that serious.
