Foreign exchange student Paul Barbe, from France, is happy with his experiences so far in Black River Falls.
Barbe’s host family is with Lois Whiteeagle and her family.
“They are very nice and welcoming,” Barbe said. “The differences between France and Black River Falls is the schooling,” Barbe said. “In Black River Falls the teachers are more friendly here than in France they have more classes a day,”
Paul said multiple times that he had liked school in BRF and all of the people in Black River Falls High School are very welcoming and friendly.
The most challenging concept that Barbe is experiencing is the language barrier. When people can not understand what Barbe is trying to say, it is hard trying to get his point across. One of his goals is to improve his English and discover new cultures.
